Santo Kakao
Santo Kakao is a self-initiated project, born out of an earlier chapter working in pastry. The idea was to sell single-origin chocolate as an experience rather than another product on a shelf, and to build the identity that required from end to end.

BEHIND THE WORK
What we did
We defined the positioning — chocolate as an experience, not a product — and the three communication pillars: traceable origin, artisan process and mindful enjoyment. From there we built the logo, drawing on iconography of cacao and of the sacred that gives the brand its name, mixing classical illustration with modern type. The dark palette, with gold and terracotta, brings the warmth and depth the product asked for. We also wrote the copy for packaging, web and social, in the contemplative, sensory tone the brand needed.

THE CHALLENGE
Feeling handmade without looking homemade
In craft chocolate, the line between artisan and amateur is thin. We looked for execution that is precise in every detail — print, materials, composition — so it could carry the price point and the origin promise without ever losing the handmade character.

THE RESULT
A complete brand system, from positioning to packaging, resolved down to production detail.
Being a self-initiated project, it allowed an idea to be taken all the way without the usual calendar constraints: defining the positioning, writing the tone and designing every piece until the whole thing held together on its own. It is the case that best shows how we work when strategy and design are decided at the same table.
